Storybook Baby Album
My Fairytales
I found myself a book today. It's Hans Christian Andersen's Fairytales in German with lovely watercolor paitings in it. I am not making a baby album but just wanted to have a go at making this type of album.
I might just try and scrap my thoughts about the meaning of his fairytales and how they apply to my life.
So this will not be finished any time soon but I know I will enjoy working on it.
Any tips on how to work with such old pages. Is there a way to make the pages acid free and would that be useful. It's a pretty old book and the pages are quite yellow already:-)
Also, any ideas on embellishing the cover?

Looks lovely! I believe there is archival spray that you can spray on the pages. That would be an awful lot of spraying for a whole book, though. Good luck - it's a beautiful idea.
Yes I have heard about that. Not easy to find in The Netherlands though. But will give it a try for sure.

Beautiful book! I've heard about the archival spray, too, but have not tried it yet. I make sure not to use original (old) photos or mementos for scrapbooking in old books - just in case. I wonder if using paint or gesso (art journaling techniques) would help? But the illustrations are too lovely to cover up! Maybe you could try some different techniques on the pages you tore out? Good luck and let us know how it's coming along! :)
