Required Supplies
Do you have all your supplies? Use this checklist to be sure you're not missing anything you'll need!
-
Sturdy White Cardstock This will be used as a base layer for creating the majority of our journal cards. I’ll be using the Recollections 110lb Bright White Cardstock.
-
Your Favorite Ink Pads Your favorite colors of ink pads from your collection. I recommend a fast drying ink such as a dye or chalk ink as we’ll be moving fast and layering . I’ll be using the Studio Calico Color Theory Dye inks.
-
Stamps From Your Collection Pick your favorite stamp sets to work with but make sure you have an assortment of images, sentiments and shapes to play with.
-
Paints & Brushes I will be using Distress Stains to demonstrate the watercolor techniques, but any set of watercolors or water soluble paints will work. One brush is all that is needed, nothing too big or small, I’ll be using a 14 Round watercolor brush.
-
Mixed Media or Watercolor Pad You'll want something that will stand up to your paint techniques, like watercolor paper or the Strathmore Mixed Media Paper Pad.
-
Waterproof Masking Material I’ll be using washi tape, foam thickers and masks cut from adhesive backed fun foam. Any masking material that can stand up to water will work for this class.
-
Dies and/or Die Cuts Any collection of pre-printed diecuts, printables or pieces cut with your dies and die-cut machine will work beautifully.
-
Alpha Stickers & Alpha Stamps An assortment of small and medium sized alpha stickers and stamps. The larger ones will be more difficult to work with on this small palette.
-
Your Favorite Adhesive I recommend something repositionable as you’ll want to be able to adjust the design or card orientation should the need arise. I’ll be using an Elmer’s dot runner.

And Most of All... ...a willingness to experiment, try new things, make mistakes and PLAY!
