A Non-Project-Lifer's Secret Stash of PL Cards
Confession time - I don't actually do project life or any form of pocket scrapping unless you count the occasional gift album but I seem to have amassed a few Project Life cards. I totally blame Heidi for this one. I am crazy about most everything Heidi Swapp so couldn't pass on her PL kits. I actually own two core kits, six mini kits, five value kits and a handful of other pocket scrapping things like packs from the Reject Shop (dollar store), and cut-aparts. It was a bit of a shock to go through this one but I did whittle down all of those boxes from taking over a whole draw in my buffet to four teeny tiny repurposed q-tip containers. I actually only got rid of two cards. The first two containers hold the core kits that I use for my staff gift albums (we employ backpackers that can only stay 3-6 months, so I make them a mini album about our farm/Australia before they go, about 2-4 gift albums a year approx 80cards each time). The third is all my Heidi Swapp Kits and a DIY Shop kit and the fourth holds the rest. There are two full kits for future projects - a Wellington Childhood edition kit and an extra Maggie Holmes kit. I also have two other Maggie Holmes kits in with my Crate Paper stuff because that's what I tend to use them with. So maybe I didn't get rid of much more than the packaging but I do love and use these on my 12x12 layouts so for now they can stay.

I think we all have a supply like this, we love it but rarely use it. I love what you did here and the fact that you now know exactly what you have and where to find it. I would only make one suggestion, and that is to set a rule going forward. "I will not buy anymore PL cards or kits." This helps when shopping, especially during sales, and it lets you spend that money and energy on supplies you will use more often. Well done!

I think that's a very good rule to follow. All of them were bought cheap and while you think of the good dollar value, you don't always think of the space value. Now that I've seen how much I have I've also had the idea to prep some more staff albums and just slot the cards in before I'll need them. I already have the albums and it will alleviate any last minute crafting (which is how I roll in general). If the cards don't go with the photos I can always swap out that one or two at the time. I also have a couple I could do in retrospect so that would use up a bunch of the core kits and only leave my beloved Heidi cards & the other fun ones, which get used on my 12x12 layouts. Two containers seems like a much more practical amount as far as me & my crafting are concerned.
