Required Supplies
Do you have all your supplies? Use this checklist to be sure you're not missing anything you'll need!
-
Basic Tools Basic tools like a trimmer, scissor, pens, tiny attacher and so on. (As far as pens go, a permanent pen would be handy to write on transparencies).
-
Photos Whether you're creating a travel album or one with a different theme you'll need photos. Try incorporating various sizes and some photo collages too.
-
Hole Punch
-
Binder Rings Size will depend on the end thickness of your mini book... so you may want to hold off on getting these until you get further along in the project
-
Patterned papers and cardstock These will be both the bases of your pages and added in as layers.
-
Watercolor or Letterpress Paper We will be using watercolor paper for this project, but if you plan on adapting the cover and not use either letterpress or watercolors, then any cardstock is fine.
-
Vellum and transparencies To create semi-transparent and transparent pages and a protective cover.
-
Glassine bags To house smaller memorabilia
-
Envelopes in various sizes/styles We will be using these for memorabilia as well.
-
Index tabs You can use store-bought index tabs or create you own.
-
Embellishments Think die-cuts, badges, frames, stickers, washi tape... things that suit your theme and color scheme. Grab your favorites for this project.
-
Tags in various sizes
-
Chipboard For use as your back page.
-
Watercolors and supplies Watercolor paints, papers and brushes will be useful for your title page.
-
Letterpress Tools We will be using our letterpress tools to create the title page as well
-
Labels Labels are great spots for journaling and titles.
-
Silhouette or die cut machine To create peek-a-boo pages. If you don't have a die-cut machine you can try hand-cutting as well.
-
A page protector In this lesson I will show you one way that I alter a page protector to fit an odd-sized item.
