Stitching with style!
When's the last time you pulled out your sewing machine and stitched on your layouts and projects? Today, Nicole Nowosad is here to share some tips and tricks for creating pretty stitched layers with gorgeous effects on your pages!
Good morning! Nicole here sharing a page using one of my go to techniques – stitching. For as long as I can remember, I have loved the look and feel of a homemade quilt and what better way to cross that into my papercrafting projects, but by adding stitching – whether by machine or by hand – to any project.
Stitching adds so much texture to a project in such an easy and affordable way. Whether you like to add hand stitching, or by machine, you can see here how just a little thread can make or add a design element to your project. I creased and folded the paper on my project and then stitched it all down, which adds another dimension to my layout.
Once my papers were in place with a small amount of adhesive, I simply stitched down the rows of my paper and added a little extra to the centers of the strips. The left side of my page needs no further embellishment as the stitching adds so much texture to something as simple as patterned paper!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you are inspired to dust off your sewing machine or stash of embroidery floss to add some texture to your projects!
