Lettering Basics

You asked, and we listened! We are so thrilled to announce that Lettering Basics, the very first Premium Class on the new Big Picture Classes, is available for purchase now!

Go from basic script to hand-lettered bliss in no time! We've enlisted three well-known experts, Amanda Arneill of Say It Pretty Designs, Valerie McKeehan of Lily&Val and Heather Bloem of Design Roots to teach you the basics of three popular writing styles.

In her Brush Lettering section, beginning 8/31/15, Amanda will teach you how to take your lettering from printing to script, adding color and flourishes to your lettering. Valerie’s Chalkboard Lettering, starting 9/21/15, will teach you how to draw letters rather than writing them. Finally, Heather’s Cheater Calligraphy, beginning 12/15/15, will show you how to replicate the look of traditional calligraphy using basic pens.

In our Premium Class experience, you’ll take a deep dive into these lettering techniques. Each talented artist will head up three weeks of this nine week class, sharing video lessons that guide you through the process of mastering the basics of lettering.

Premium Classes are an in-depth, hands-on event. You'll connect with the teachers directly, providing you with more feedback and guidance. Your teachers will be available to answer questions on the class message board and in an online chat, and you'll be able to share your progress in our classroom gallery.
