Make It for Mom with the MINC!

Hi BPC friends! I’m Aly Dosdall and today I’m sharing a fun gift idea for Mother's Day. I recently got my hands on the awesome new Minc gold foiling tool, and what perfect timing! Adding gold foil to my handmade Mother’s Day gifts will make them extra special for sure. Check out what I made for my sweet mother-in-law!

I started by creating an 8x10 print in Photoshop and printing it with my laser printer. If you'd like to use the same print I did, you can download it for free below. Simply cut your 8 1/2x 11 inch paper around the solid lines to make an 8x10 print.

Then I covered my print with a sheet of reactive gold foil and ran it through my Minc machine to seal the reactive foil to the printed text.

Your text/images need to be printed with a laser printer for the reactive foil to take.

If you don’t have a laser printer you can take your file to a copy center and have it laser printed there. I found that cardstock weight laser printer paper worked best as it took the ink better, and so the foil took to the print better.

After creating the gold foil print I cut several gold glitter pennants with my Banner Punch Board and created a bunting element across the top and bottom of the print.

Then I adhered a die cut sunshine next to the text and placed the print in a frame. I love it when my crafting tools make gift giving easier! I can't wait for my mother-in-law to open this on Sunday. She's going to love it.
