Hey
there, this is Ali Edwards for Big Picture Classes and
I wanted to take a couple of minutes today to invite you
to join me for my One Little Word class in 2013.
This
will be the third year of working towards making our words
visible in our lives over the course of 12 months. This
year I am going to be presenting some new prompts. The
majority of the prompts will be new. The way this class
it set up is that each month you receive a little reminder
to come to the classroom and in the classroom there will
be some sort of a creative or writing prompt for you that
will help you focus on your word, help you develop a relationship
with your word, and help you kind of immerse yourself
in your word for whatever your desired outcome is. For
most people it is that they are wanting to invite something
into their lives, they are wanting to make a change, they
are wanting to do something different, they are wanting
to celebrate, they are wanting to let go. There are lots
and lots of different reasons why people choose their
words. So each month a new prompt for you, and like I
said, this year a majority of the prompts will be new
and redone, kind of a new look for the handouts. There
may be a couple of the prompts that will reappear if you
have taken the class either of the last two years where
we did the same ones both years. There are a few in there
that I think are effective and powerful and that I would
like to continue repeating in my own album.
I
am going to be using an 8 1/2" x 11" We R Memory
Keepers album and I am actually just continuing to include
my 2013 prompts and word reflections in the same album
that I've used in the past. I'm not going to be doing
any smaller sized page protectors this year just because
it becomes more complicated. We may cut down some larger
sized 8 1/2" x 11" to accommodate some smaller
projects and potentially use Washi tape or stitching to
finish off the edges of those pages. That is kind of "to
be determined" over the course of the year. The main
idea of this class is simply to give you a community of
people that are all participating and journeying with
a single word that they choose for the year. Like I said,
people choose words for so many different reasons and
I've been doing this for quite a few years now and I've
had a different word each year and each year I've had
a completely different experience with my word and definitely
as a reflection of what is happening in my life and the
things that are going on.
This
year choosing a new word has been just as interesting
as it has been in the past. One of the things that I have
really found over the last years is by having these set
prompts each month, these very focused activities, these
ways to really make my word visible has made a major difference
in just my relationship with the word. So you are invited.
I would love to have you join me. The prompts will be
kind of a combination as they have been in the past of
photos and writing and some crafts or crafty related ones
as well.
I
really hope you can join me for One Little Word in 2013
and I will see you in the classroom.
