Hi
everyone! This is Elisha Snow with Big Picture Classes,
and I'm so excited to help you take your photography to
the next level. Hopefully by now you've learned a little
bit about the basics of photography, either through my
first Big Picture class, "Get Great Photos With
Any Camera" or just on your own. Anyone can learn
the technicalities of picture taking, but it's the basic
composition and lighting knowledge that will truly help
your photos be all that they can.
This
class is going to be packed with information. We'll be
discussing ISO, shutter speed and aperture in depth throughout
the class, as these are the three main elements that are
required to create a perfect exposure. We'll also get
the chance to talk about other elements of photography,
such as metering modes, white balance, flash, focus, post-processing,
lenses and lots more. As we're going along, if you have
any questions, please don't hesitate to leave me a message
on the message board, or email me. As the teacher of this
class, I'm committed to answering all your questions and
helping you with whatever you need!
I'm
going to tell you right now that you may get a little
frustrated at times or not completely understand the concepts
in every lesson. As I was first learning photography myself,
I spent many nights wide-awake, frustrated that I wasn't
understanding just how my camera worked! So how did I
finally "get" it? Practice. Seriously, TONS
of practice. Experiment a lot. That's the great thing
about digital cameras! You can take literally thousands
of pictures without worrying about wasting film! I just
can't stress enough how important it is to constantly
practice, read your manual and ask questions!
My
goal for you is that by the end of these eight weeks you'll
finally "get it" and fully understand all that
goes into creating a stellar photo. There's nothing better
than looking up on your living room wall and seeing a
huge beautiful framed photograph that YOU took. Believe
me
it's awesome!
I
have such a passion for this hobby and hope that I can
instill a little of that passion in you. I'm here to help
you have FUN with photos!
See
you in class!
