Hello
there! This is Tami Morrison for Big Picture Scrapbooking.
I am here to ask all you moms out there in scrapbook
land, are you feeling the heat this summer, 'cause I'm
feeling the heat! The heat to make the 11 or so weeks
of summer vacation fun, memorable, meaningful, and somewhat
educational for my kids. While I'm at it, I would also
like them to be too engaged in constructive activities
to bicker with each other or to watch too much TV or
to spend all day playing video games or to tell me there
is nothing to eat and they're bored, and I'd like them
to go back to school with interesting and impressive
things to write about when their teacher gives them
that "what I did over the summer assignment".
You know, the kind of stuff that just basically makes
me look like Super Mom - no pressure right?
I
really do love when my kids are out of school for the
summer and our schedule is more relaxed. We get to hang
out in our jammies all morning and play board games
or spend the afternoon at the pool, but even though
we have a ton of fun together and I wouldn't trade it,
it can be a huge challenge to keep them entertained
over the summer, especially in these economic times
when I know our family has had to cut back on a lot
of our summer activities and vacation plans. And then
there is the fact that having the kids home all day
and up later at night means very little "me"
time which is why summer is my least productive scrapbooking
season of all, and all that is why I created this new
summer class for moms and kids.
In
Kidding Around, A Mom and Me Scrapbooking Escapade,
you get to share your love of scrapbooking with your
scrappy little sidekicks and carve out a little bit
of creative time for yourself while you're at it. The
kids will get three fun assignments of their very own
every week to keep them occupied, there will be a summer
fun activity, a journaling prompt and a photography
assignment, making a total of three pages each week.
While they are busy doing that, you moms will get your
very own weekly page prompt along with some tips for
streamlining the scrapbooking process so you can make
the most of what little scrapbooking time you have.
You will squeeze some scrapbooking into your crazy summer
schedule and get to spend some quality time sharing
something you love with your kids, and the kids will
make fun memories and create a really special kid's-eye-view
keepsake of their summer, so it's a win-win. This class
is perfect for kids of all ages, from preschool on up
through elementary school, and even beyond that if you
have kids beyond elementary school age who will still
do what you tell them to do. I personally have never
had one like that, but you might. We moms have got to
stick together like glue when it comes to surviving
summer vacation, right? So I hope you will join me and
my kids in Kidding Around, A Mom and Me Scrapbooking
Escapade, it's going to be BIG fun!
