Hi
Everyone! This is Elisha Snow with Big Picture Scrapbooking,
and I'm so excited to help you take your photography to
the next level. Hopefully by now you've learned a little
bit about the basics of photography, either through my
first Big Picture class, "Get Great Photos with Any
Camera," or just on your own. Anyone can learn the
technicalities of picture-taking, but it's the basic composition
and lighting knowledge that will truly help your photos
be all that they can.
For this class, I'm going to be assuming that you're using
a digital SLR camera. I'm also going to be assuming that
you want to learn more about getting your camera out of
automatic mode. I've had many people ask me what kind
of camera to buy and whether or not they should make the
jump to a digital SLR camera. I've always told them that
even if you shoot only in automatic mode, you're going
to notice a HUGE difference in the speed and quality of
an SLR compared to your point-and-shoot camera.
For
the next four weeks, we're going to learn how to take
your camera from good pictures to great, simply by taking
advantage of the different settings and options your camera
offers. We'll learn what each of those little symbols,
icons and letters on your dial means. We'll touch on white
balance, flash, focus, post-processing, and even what
type of lenses you should buy. I'll share many of my photos
with you and hope that you'll do the same. My goal for
you is to have a better understanding of your camera,
its settings, and photography in general.
I
have such a passion for this hobby and hope that I can
instill a little of that passion in you. I won't lie.
It can be overwhelming at times, but I'm here for you!
I'm here to answer your questions and help you NOT get
too overwhelmed. I'm here to help you have FUN with photos!
See you in class!
