Hi
there, I'm Nic Howard and I'm thrilled to be working with
Big Picture Scrapbooking as one of the 4Experts teachers
for 2010.
I
am looking forward to teaching during the second three
months of the year with a technique based class! Scrapbooking
is a whole lot of different things to me and I personally
enjoy getting photos and stories on to a project but I
also love the whole creative process and this is what
I'd like to share with you.
Let's
talk more about my process and what I hope to share.
It's
layering, it's gathering papers and products together
to create backgrounds, it's dimension and it's detail.
It's clusters of embellishments and creative titles: I
enjoy looking for the embellishment opportunities in patterned
papers and bringing those into a layout. It's messy stuff,
a little paint, a little glitter. Masking and building.
Most of all though, my favourite part of the creative
process is pulling all of this together into something
that makes me sit back and think wow, that really was
fun!
One
of the benefits of this class is the sheer amount of techniques
you will receive step by step instruction for. From start
to finish, we are going to break down the most complex
of detailed pages and work on the smaller things. Whether
you go ahead and apply these techniques to wildly extravagant
pages or whether you use these techniques as smaller detail
on more simple pages
that will be up to you. Each
and every one of you in the class will have free rein
to take the technique to whichever level suits your personal
scrapbooking style.
As
we work through the workshop there will opportunity to
participate in two 'gala' weeks. These will be extra fun
weeks full of challenges, manufacturer giveaways, sponsored
techniques and the occasional chat. It'll be a time to
share and be inspired. As always, the content of this
workshop will be downloadable, so you can participate
in all the message board and gallery fun and interaction,
or work at your own pace. It's entirely up to you.
I'm
excited to be spending the second three months teaching
this technique workshop, it's something I so enjoy. It's
about creating a page that will make people look and look
again, but it's letting the photo and story continue to
shine. That's my goal, anyway. I hope you can join me
bring it all together with Big Picture Scrapbooking.
