Textuality
|
We
scrappers are lucky gals. From letter stickers to
chipboard monograms, alphabet stamps to text paper
(plus rub-ons, fonts, die cuts. . . ), we have mountains
of letter shapes at our disposal. Of course, having
them is different than actually using them.
It's awfully hard to peel that first, pristine letter
S from the sticker sheet sometimes. And it's harder
to use that gorgeous new S in a different way than
you ever have before.
Textuality
is the class that will change the way you use your
text-based scrapping products. And it doesn't stop
just with alphabets, either. Journaling spaces,
titles, quotes: nearly every way that scrapbooking
and words or letters work together is covered. You'll
learn innovative methods to make your journaling
inviting to read. New ways to incorporate text into
your designs. Unexpected sources for letter-based
products. Whether you want to get your letter products
out of the storage bin and onto your layouts or
use letters and wordforms in surprising ways, Textuality
is the class for you.

Your
Textuality instructor, Amy Sorensen, is a verbivore. There's
not much that makes her happier than a word used well,
either in a sentence or as a design element on a layout.
She's written articles for Simple Scrapbooks magazine,
taught the joys of grammar, narrative essays, and poetry
to high school students, and recommended the perfect novel
to plenty of library patrons. And, of course, taught several
popular classes at Big Picture Classes, including The
Gift of Words, Write Now! and My Word!
In
this four-week class, she'll uncover innovative ways to
use words on your layouts, all with just your word processor
and the supplies you already have on hand. In fact, by
the end of the class, you'll discover you've made a serious
dent in your alphabet supplies, fallen in love all over
again with your favorite fonts, and created a bunch of
layouts that really say something.
