I will try to walk you through it :-) This is how I do it, but keep in mind I am self-taught so it may not be the ideal way. The first thing you want to do is get the color that you want the text to be on the little swatches at the bottom right of your screen (under the tools menu) there are too little squares down there, if you haven't played with them one will be white and one will be black. I use the little eyedropper tool and click the eyedropper on the color I want the text to be (I usually pick a color from one of my papers, so I just click on that color in the paper) you will see the square at the bottom change to that color. if you didn't get exactly the shade that you want from your paper, you can click around until you get it the way you want it. Once you have done that, activate the text layer that you want to change by clicking on it several times quickly. Once the text box opens up, you can click to highlight all the text or hit Ctrl A to highlight all the text. Then click on the color swatch int the text menu box. A popup will come up that will show you a current and new swatch, if the new swatch doesn't show your color from the bottom swatch you selected, just click on that bottom swatch and it should change and then select ok and then the green arrow. Hope that isn't too convoluted. You might want to try the Digi-Files website, they have tons of tutorials that are much better written than this :-)
