I'm looking for an good quality, affordable color printer that is not too large for the small space I'm currently scrapbooking in. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!!

Are there any features that you want?

i.e. copier/scanner too, or wide format

Just a copier/scanner & printing nice photos. I don't really need the capablility of printing 12x12. Up to 8x10 would be fine. I would mainly being using it to print 4x6 prints.

I have a Canon and am really pleased with it- especially the prints I get at home with it.  I does borderless up to the 8.5 by 11 which can be handy when you want a wider picture.  I think it's the Pixma 860 which is now the 870- It's works with wireless which you may or may not need.  In fact, I don't use the wireless part- It's actually cabeled to my wireless router.  But, that may be a consideration for you depending on the type of computer you have or how many there are in your home.  I have a laptop and love that I don't have to attach to my printer to print.  (And the geek in me finds it super cool to be able to hit print from anywhere in our house/apartment.)  Looking at the 870- the 870 will print from an Iphone- wish I had the newer version but mine works great.  Now, the 860/870 may be more than you need, it does duplex printing etc.  I actually was able to get it pretty cheap at Staples and trade in my old HP which I did not like the way it printed photos (I think I got a Lemon because my brother got the same HP printer and got good shots- and it we tried both our laptops on both printers- mine did bad, his did good.)

Thanks so much Amy! I'll definitely check out the Canon. I have a HP as well & it lasted about a year before it went on the "fritz". I didn't care for the photos it printed either when it did work so I'm definitely done with HP.

I have an Epson printer. I think epson and canons are both quality photo printers, kind of like Nikon and Canon cameras . . .

Definitely check them both out!

I have an epson printer which I love. It uses the better quality inks (claria) which are better for printing photos. The scaner is very good as well. Love that is can be used to print photos straight from your SDcard, without turning on the computer! and so simple editing through there as well

Just our experience, but.....We went through several Epson printers without much luck and many problems. We have gone with Canon ever since and love, love, love them. Had many problems with Epson ink jets clogging. Not the case with the Canons. I have heard good things about HP, but have only had laser HP printers. HTH.

I love my HP Photosmart Premium.  The photo print quality is wonderful, but it seems to be a real ink hog.  I have heard great info on Epson products.  Also from what I have recently read, you do not need to spend a fortune to get good quality prints.  Check an online search for ratings which is what I do along with friends recomendations.

Thank you ladies for all your suggestions/opinions, I really appreciate it! Kristen

Such good info!  This is exactly what I was coming to look for :)

I'm obsessing over "needing" pigment-based inks and such.  Is that necessary when storing in an album like the PL albums?
