I am so disappointed with the Big Scrapbooking Festival.

You must be a proficient digi-scrapper, to be so missing the digital projects. Lucky you...I'm still tip-toeing into digital...it would probably be generous to say that I am a hybrid scapper. I'm trying, but - truth be told, I'm still a traditional paper scrapper. Perhaps you will be more satisfied as the Festival continues, and they feature some of the more computer-centric instructors. I respectfully disagree with you (in the nicest way) that the projects so far have been "elementary." Of course, it is completely your right to decide these projects are not your cup of tea...but BPS tries to cater to such an enormous variety of scrappers, and I - for one - have loved seeing everything and can't wait to log on every morning and see what's in store for today. I also appreciate getting a taste of the different instructors at BPS. So often, I stick with my favorite teachers, and the Festival is giving me a chance to take a peek at other instructors' styles. I myself am not a big "craft" person. What little time I have is devoted to album layouts, so I'm not necessarily planning to do the craft-type projects featured...but I still enjoy seeing the projects...thinking of what is possible (even though I might never make a tag or hostess gift), and trying to enjoy whatever ideas and inspiration that come. Further, I can't believe that BPS is offering this to all of us FOR FREE (not to mention the discount code they've provided for tuition to future classes)! Don't give up on the Festival just yet...hopefully what you are looking for is coming down the road. And, no matter what, there is always the fellowship that comes from being part of such a great community where we are all dedicated to making and keeping precious memories. Ciao, Renee

I have to agree with Renee. I love all the different ideas and getting to know a little about all the different teachers here. Whilst I have not completed anything yet, I have been inspired by a number of the projects/ideas. I think this is an excellent way to get a feel for a variety of techniques and projects. I look forward to those daily emails and the new projects they bring. It's amazing to have all this for free plus the chance to win awesome prizes and on top of that, discount on further classes.

What surprised me most is the inspiration I have found in the gallery from posters. Grab a cup of coffee and some spare minutes and have a look.

Really?? if you made a mini book about yourself just using the prompts for the challenges everyday I would think you having been happy!! I for one love the festival and getting to see each of the teachers styles has opened my eyes up to what the next class I will be taking...

I also didn't find anything in the Festival that interested me -- but I am totally a digital scrapbooker and don't do any home-related items etc. That said, it was free, so I can't complain....and I also found it fun to look each day. I do wish, however, that one of the days would have been digital focussed.

I have to say that I LOVED the festival, however I never even thought about digi sb and I can see and understand how those who do digi did feel left out. I'm so sorry.

I too was disappointed with the Festival. I do a little digi scrapbooking, but more hybrid. But, I found the projects that they shared were nothing special and things I had already seen and many I had already done. I was hoping for some fresh inspiration. But, at least it was free, so I can't compain too much!!

Just want to jump in and say thank you ALL for sharing your opinions (both positive and negative) about the Big Idea Festival. This is the kind of feedback that helps us understand what you want and need, and ultimately enables us to improve what we do. Our festival this year was intended to share lots of quick and easy papercrafting ideas with the same grouping of product (inspired by Cocoa Daisy's July kit.) In hindsight, we could have offered a selection of digital product as well!
In addition to this forum, we've distributed a survey that will give us even more specific feedback and insights into our annual freebie classroom -- I hope you'll take 10 minutes to respond.
We love our BPS community!

I miss the Big Festival - I wish it could be a DAILY event. Some of the projects I loved and some I didn't care for at all, BUT I really looked forward to meeting a new person everyday and seeing their projects and I really miss this. What I like most about Big Picture Scrapbooking is the diversity and the difference between scrapbookers. There is no wrong way or right way - it's just what works for each of us. That's why there is such a variety of classes. Don't take the ones that don't suit you - that's the beauty of it. If I can't get something and somebody different every day, how about once a week to keep my "fix" going. What do you think Stacy? Whatever, just keep up the good work at BPS!

Thanks for your response Stacey and being open to including digital next time. As I said, I appreciated it anyway -- it was fun to have something to look forward to checking out every day.
And, in general, BPS is great for digital -- I have taken the Ali Edwards and Cathy Zielske classes and am signed up for the new Cathy class and have been delighted with the way that they cater to both digi and non-digi scrappers.

The big idea festival gave me the opportunity to see the styles of different teachers and to be able to make a wiser choice in classes I choose to participate in, in the future. We all have our favorites and mine still remains "Nic Howard".

I have to say that I signed up for the Festival at the last minute and absolutely loved it. I have never really made paper LO's, but some of the classes made me want to grab all my stash and create! And if not that, there were lots of ideas that I felt could be translated into digital. I too loved seeing all the different styles of the instructors and having a peek into their blogs. Thank you so much for offering all that for free!
