| Can
you see the creative possibility in mundane everyday
items?
"It's
not what you look at that matters, it's what you
see."
~ Henry David Thoreau
If
you have the desire to "lift up" ordinary
items to a new potential, then this is the workshop
for you! Inspired by environmental awareness, saving
money, and a love for all things creative, Mou Saha
has created a four-week workshop to help you see
the upcycling potential that mundane and discarded
items might hold. In this four-week workshop you'll
create a memory capsule, some home decor, and an
art journal out of items that you can easily find
around you.
Lift
Me Up! will encourage you to take a second
look at what you are about to discard and teach
you some valuable skills and techniques to create
beautiful and useful art. While you complete four
upcycled projects with Mou--progressing from beginner
to advanced--you will develop a new vision about
transforming discarded objects into works of art
using only standard supplies from your craft closet
and some household basics.

A
Note from Mou:
After I left my comparatively lucrative career
in clinical psychology to stay home and raise
my children, I began scrapbooking and realized
that the expenses to keep up this hobby could
escalate very quickly. While I did enjoy the
latest and the greatest, I also looked for
ways to reduce, reuse, recycle and upcycle
everyday cast-offs in my studio and art. I
kept papers and cardstock in used priority
mail boxes, decked up empty soup cans to hold
my brushes and pencils, created collages with
junk mail, etc. These ventures kept me inspired
to live an artful life. My ongoing creative
journey brought me in contact with talented
fellow artists, recognition through publications
in Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks, Etc., Somerset
Memories, Somerset Apprentice, and the opportunity
to travel, teach, inspire and be inspired
while sharing my passion.
