I expect I'll crop this a little on the right to the stone, and a little on the top to keep a 4x6 ratio.

Actually, I think you did a really great job with the lighting conditions you had! Any time that you can find a bit of shade when you're out in the bright overhead sunlight is awesome! I love that you just placed her in this little crook to get a good exposure. And I actually don't think the "dark pit" is bad at all--as long as her face looks nicely exposed, which it does. I love how she's leaning against the wall with her foot up--just that little pose adds interest to the photo. I also love how the overall photo is neutral, with that pop of color! It really helps to keep your eye focused on the subject. I agree with you about cropping, though. Keep the rule of thirds in mind as your cropping and maybe try to position her face in the top right of the frame. But yeah, get rid of the bit to the right. Other than that your settings look good, your exposure is great and the color is really nice! Great job! Thanks so much for being part of this class.

Just adding a comment to add that this was taken mid-day at the zoo and the sun was crazy bright. One of the things I don't like about this image is the dark pit that her head kind of sinks into.
