Lovely Details - Grid/Needlepoint Challenge
Lovely Details - Grid/Needlepoint Challenge
I decided to have a go at the fabulous needlepoint inspiration challenge that May posted. This is the first time that I ever did hand stitching on a LO. It was rather tedious - LOL, but I really love the look! This is also only the 3rd double page spread that I have ever done. Somewhat out of my comfort zone here :) Of course, this is another layout for the parent's reno book and this one showcases some of the finer details that mom added. Can you tell I am not scrapping this book in order? Tee Hee :) I also used a tool that I have never used - My Sew Easy. It worked like a charm to make all my stitch holes! I used some punces too and some pre made die cuts. Thanks for taking a look!

Well done! This looks so great that I can't believe it is out of your comfort zone. From seeing this, I would say that double spreads are in your wheelhouse! You dominated this challenge. Wow, this looks great.

I'm not a fan of grids but leave it to you to make one look fabulous!

Hey kaburton! Thanks for checking out my blog and emailing! I can't find your contact info to return the email, so I do hope you see this here regarding how I did this misting: I hardly ever use the actual spritzer. I unscrew the top, swirl the plastic tube top thing in the mist and this "fling" it onto the page. Does that make sense? If I want larger blobs, I use a paintbrush. For the blue on this layout, I splattered a dark blue and while it was still wet, I spritzed (with the actual spritzer) some glimmer mist to make the blue "bleed" out a bit. I hope this helps :) diwarli - you make me smile

Stop it already!!! :-) You know I'm only joking but come on, you are so on fire, I can feel the heat of the flames 5000 miles away :-) Sufficive to say I think this is a great patchwork type effect L.O. Poking a piece of paper with a sharp implement before handsewing must be quite good for getting rid of any frustration too - I'm off to have a go :-) Happy Easter everyone xx
