Finding
Your Way
"To
thine own self be true, and it must follow,
as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to
any man."
William
Shakespeare in Hamlet
Is
your authentic voice present on your scrapbook pages?
Most scrapbookers struggle at one time or another, to
find an authentic way to create pages. The design style
you prefer, the way you focus on photos and the process
you use to create pages say as much about who you are
as the thoughtful journaling that you put on the page.
NOTE
FROM KAREN:
During the first five years of my scrapbooking
journey, I struggled to find an authentic way of creating
pages. I had a simple style, focusing on the photos
and the words, but something was missing from my pages.
There wasn't a clear consistency in my layouts, and
the way I felt about my pages varied from some that
I loved, and some that I hated. Sometimes the process
of creating was a torture and other times it was fun.
The pages I made didn't feel authentic to me. My journaling
had a clear voice, but my layouts, my designs, my
pages did not. |
"Just
be what you are and speak from your guts and heart - it's
all a man has."
Hubert Humphrey
Through
creating a layout a day, for 31 days, Karen found her
design voice. She found her way of scrapbooking. Through
creating consistently, you will begin to see clear threads
throughout your layouts: repeated patterns, ideas and
composition.
There
is great value in finding your own voice:
-
Time:
When
you have a clear idea of what types of products you
use on your pages, you can surround yourself with products
that inspire you and make scrapbooking easier and more
fun.
-
Money:
Gain
a clear understanding of what you use and what you don't
so you can stop wasting money buying products that won't
end up your pages!
-
Joy:
Most
significantly, learn to enjoy the process of creating
layouts and to love every single layout you create.
You may love some more than others, but you will love
them all if they feel authentic.
Are
you ready to take a journey that will permanently change
the way you scrapbook? This class will teach you processes
that will help you put your authentic self into every
aspect of creating layouts and preserving memories. Nothing
compares to feeling as if what you're creating is authentic
to you - your voice. Karen will help you along the journey
of Finding Your Way, just as she did, so that you
can become an authentic scrapbooker.
"Like
an ability or a muscle, hearing your
inner wisdom is strengthened by doing it."
Robbie Glass
