Location
Your registration for 12/12/12 in Hawaii includes two nights at The Fairmont Kea Lani in sunny Wailea, Maui. No need to reserve your own hotel room for the nights of 12/11-12/12, we've taken care of that for you!

Your 860-square foot one-bedroom suite offers a spacious living room with a queen sofa bed. French doors separate the living room from the bedroom which has a king-sized bed (two doubles may be requested but not guaranteed). An oversized marble bathroom has dual access from the living room and bedroom and a wet bar in the living room is complete with microwave, compact refrigerator, kettle and coffee maker. From both the living room and bedroom, sliding glass doors provide access to your private lanai (balcony) offering scenic views.

Resort amenities include three swimming pools with complimentary beach umbrellas including an adults-only pool and two activity pools connected by a 140-foot waterslide. The Fairmont Kea Lani is conveniently located within minutes of Wailea's championship golf courses and tennis courts. The resort also offers an on-site spa for added pampering!

Nearest airport
The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui is located just 17 miles from the Kahului Airport (OGG). Travel time from the airport to the hotel is approximately 30 minutes.

When to arrive
The 12/12/12 in Hawaii event officially begins at 6 pm on Tuesday, December 11. Plan to arrive in Maui during the afternoon of Tuesday, December 11. Check-in at the hotel begins at 4 pm. After arriving at the hotel and checking in, take some time to relax and get settled in your room before meeting us for registration, dinner, and a keynote address beginning at 6 pm.

Airport-to-hotel transportation
Look forward to an aloha greeting (lei included) from your friends at Big Picture Classes once you arrive at the Kahului Airport on Tuesday, December 11. After you've officially registered for the event and made your flight arrangements, email us a copy of your itinerary to merrilynneh@bigpictureclasses.com.

A few weeks prior to the event, we will contact you with more details such as where to meet us once you arrive. We'll also provide you with our event coordinator's cell phone number and email so you can reach her if there are any changes or delays to your itinerary.

Room reservations
Your event registration for the 12/12/12 in Hawaii event includes your room reservations for the nights of Tuesday, December 11 and Wednesday, December 12, self-parking, resort fees plus all room taxes.

When you arrive at the hotel to check-in, you will want to provide a credit card to cover additional room nights after December 12 and any additional incidentals that you intend to charge to your room such as on-site activities, room service, etc.

Extend your stay
As an attendee of the 12/12/12 in Hawaii event, you may choose to extend your stay at The Fairmont Kea Lani to enjoy all that Maui has to offer! Just for our event guests, we've negotiated a discounted room rate of $200 per night for up to three nights after the event concludes. (Plus applicable room tax and other room charges.)

We will send you specific instructions on how to extend your stay once you have registered online and are a confirmed attendee for the 12/12/12 in Hawaii event.

For now, just keep in mind that this is an excellent opportunity to bring your family and make a vacation out of your time in Maui!

What to bring/pack
Most likely, you can plan on a perfect tropical getaway no matter where you travel from. In December, weather temperatures in Maui average 77 F and ocean temperatures average 74 F. It is not uncommon for the last few months of the year to bring some rain, however, most storms drop little rain and are generally over quickly.

We recommend casual travel attire for all aspects of the 12/12/12 in Hawaii event including dinner the evening of December 11. Dress comfortably on December 12 and prepare for a full day of creativity! We also recommend a light sweater for the classroom as hotels can be a bit chilly.

As far as scrapbooking supplies, we recommend you bring a basic tool kit*. You will also want to bring the list of recommended photos that you'll receive after you are registered for the event. You may also want to bring an additional suitcase (or at least extra room in the suitcase you pack) to hold the extra goodies you receive from us and our generous sponsors.

If there is anything we can do in advance to assist with any special needs (including allergies or dietary requests), please let us know.
