Digital Clustering Like a Pro

Have you ever looked at someone else’s layout and thought, “If only I could create nice clusters like that? When I try to do it, it looks like the elements are just thrown on the page!”  Element clustering is one of the most popular digital techniques right now, however many people find it a struggle to place individual decorative elements “just right.” Creating attractive element clusters can be easy, with the help of a few simple design principles as well as some proven techniques and tips.

Aaron Morris, a.k.a "Sir Scrapalot", has been a member of the digital scrapbooking community for nearly four years. His layouts have been featured in many print and online publications. Aaron has worked as a teacher for Masterful Scrapbook Design, and shares his tips, tutorials and techniques for scrapbooking on his blog. He also writes guest posts for Simple Scrapper, The Daily Digi, and the Funky Playground Designs blog and is a member of the design team for Wild Dandelion Designs, Amanda Heimann Designs, Cindy Schneider Designs, and The Daily Digi. In the past, Aaron has designed product for Polka Dot Plum, Funky Playground Designs, and Scrap Matters.

In this class, you’ll explore the techniques that make attractive element clusters work including:

  • the rule of threes
  • the visual triangle
  • creating balance
  • using white space to enhance design
  • resizing and repurposing elements

Aaron will also share the best tips for clustering that he’s learned along the way. You will work with Aaron and an exclusive digital scrapbooking kit to create a layout featuring attractive element clusters.  With Aaron’s help and lots of inspirational ideas, you will be clustering like a pro in no time!

Important information about Self-Paced Projects at Big Picture Classes!
Self-Paced Projects are instant download classes that allow you to participate at BPC anytime! These classes are different from our interactive workshops. There are no starting or ending dates -- you may enroll at any time. This flexibility also means, that there will not be the level of teacher and student interaction that we enjoy in our workshops. You will receive handouts to print and an audio file to listen to, but there are typically no message boards or chats.

Even though these classes offer less interaction, you are not alone! If you need help, email us at admin@bigpictureclasses.com. Enjoy!
