Design Challenges
Fitting scrapbooking into a busy schedule can be tricky; even more so if you’re feeling a little stale, bored, or generally uninspired! Scrapbooking is about the photos and the words that make up your memories, of course, but if you lose sight of the value of the process, our beloved hobby can feel a little like a chore—and scrapbooking should never feel like a chore. If your creative process is feeling a little anemic or you simply want the accountability of a challenge to reset your creative focus, you need Design Challenges!
Elizabeth Dillow is passionate about the creative process of design—and believes that without it, it’s hard to sustain a lifelong love of scrapbooking. A veteran teacher at Big Picture Classes, she is also the author of The Scrapbooker’s Almanac, member of the inspiration collective at Write.Click.Scrapbook., and an avid photographer and blogger. She taught her first photography workshop in 2002, and continues to teach photography, inspiration, and design classes throughout the U.S. She works to blend her love of graphic design and straight lines with messy art supplies on a regular basis—but admires and encourages all types of scrapbooking styles! |
At
the end of Design Challenges, students will
have twelve completed pages in hand, each based on
a different element of design. It’s not just
about completed pages, though! A challenge is meant
to push you a little, and each challenge issued by
Elizabeth will help you do just that—you might
find the area outside your normal design comfort zone
is a whole lot of fun.
