Q. Can I view the classes on my tablet?
A. All of the classes should be viewable on a tablet. There may be certain class aspects which do not work depending on the tablet, for instance, picture uploading or playing Flash videos (see later question for how to get this to work on the iPad). Currently from an iPad because of how Apple has designed their browser, there is no picture uploading available so you'll have to use a computer for this.
Q. How can I post messages from my tablet?
A. Normally you should be able to start a new post or reply as you always do, and click in the text field that pops up. Your tablet at that point should pull up the keyboard allowing you to type. If for some reason it doesn’t do this, in the upper left corner of the messaging toolbar (above the textfield), you’ll see a button labeled “Source.” Click on this, and then you should be able to type. Note however that this means any returns that you add in to break paragraphs up will be stripped out, unless you use the HTML code for a paragraph return of <p>.
Q. How do I view the Flash videos on an iPad?
A. The iPad doesn’t natively support Flash, so most of the time the classroom videos will not be viewable on the iPad. However, there are browser apps you can buy which do support Flash. Photon is one of those.
Q. How do I watch a video chat on the iPad?
A. This is almost the same answer as “viewing the Flash videos on an iPad.” You can get the Photon browser and watch the chat. Another option is to download the free Ustream app. You can use the app to search for the BigPictureClasses channel (which only usually becomes available at the time of a video chat). If the video chat has started/almost starting, that particular chat should be an option in the channel for you to select.
