Best tip I can give is to bring your camera anywhere and just shoot!

My tip is to take a lot of pictures from different angles and hope that at least one of them will turn great. Yes, I really do need this class :)

To get good photos through cage bars of my birds I use the landscape model to force the camera to focus past the bars.

Take lots of photos! And turn off the flash if there is enough natural light.

Shooting and framing the subject, between other subjects.

Shooting on continous mode helps getting my kids in the moment

Looking forward ti the Festival

This looks great!! Thanks for the chance to win!!!

When taking pics of my kids I try to talk with them or make silly sounds to grab their attention and get a natural smile.

My favorite tips for iPhone users: turn off the flash & don't zoom.
Posted By Maria5  |  August 29, 2012 at 02:04 PM

I also have little to no photo skills, but want some!
Posted By Holly  |  August 29, 2012 at 01:50 PM

my top tip is to just get out there and take photos - all the time! you will improve your eye at the very least! And look for different angles - not everything has to line up on the line of thirds - sometimes quirky is good ;-)

I like to get down on the ground when I take photos of children or pets. Sometimes I will even try shooting up at them as I lay on the ground.

Go in close for faces. A group shot of a few people always looks better as a face shot than standing far away and doing a full body shot with background. You miss the details of their wonderful faces and it constantly seems like the group is a bit too far away.

My best tip is to try and frame your subjects in your photos and not to cut off body parts at weird angles. Thanks for a chance to win.

My tip is to try to take natural shots - I do this with my kids, while they're playing and laughing, not just posing for photos. Thanks for the chance to win!

Your camera is also great to use for "journaling" purposes...take a photo of the signs, the restaurant menus, the recital program, ticket stubs, historical placards, etc....
Posted By Bse  |  August 29, 2012 at 06:06 AM

I love to take loads of shots of the same thing from different angles - out of umpteen photo's, I find I achieve one absolutely amazing shot! Thanks for the chance to win!

If you forget your camera don't forget you have your cellphone and snap that picture!
Posted By Lorinda  |  August 29, 2012 at 05:46 AM

My tip is to take your camera everywhere. You never know what moment may arise.
Posted By Nicole Hoffer  |  August 29, 2012 at 05:16 AM

Take it from a different angle than the obvious and you will catch a pose!
Posted By lenoraln  |  August 29, 2012 at 03:59 AM

Lay down on the floor when taking photos of litle ones!!
Posted By SusanSusan  |  August 29, 2012 at 03:00 AM

When you're out and about (not necessarily on holiday) give your camera /phone to someone you're with eg kids, family, friends etc as they don't necessarily see what you see. Makes for great comparison as you do realise that we all have our own perspective.....and can miss out on things....

Shoot like crazy, then after downloading delete like crazy. But if 1 of 20 pictures is great, it's awesome. :)
