Take a moment to celebrate your successes. At times, it’s all too easy to notice our shortcomings. Today, I ask that you take a moment to think about all of your successes, and give yourself permission to be proud of everything you have accomplished in your day, week, life.

Go outside today and immerse yourself in nature. Feel the grass under your feet, breathe in the fresh air, feel the sun on your face, and focus on being present and appreciating all the beauty nature has to offer.

Take 15 minutes today to write someone a note. Find a piece of paper and a pen, and write a letter to someone you care about. Let them know how thankful you are to have them in your life, and why. Not only will you feel amazing for taking a moment to realize how fortunate you are, you’ll also make someone’s day when you mail out that little letter.

Read a book that you enjoyed as a child. Take a few moments to reconnect with the story, and why you loved it. Was it full of adventure? Or cute, furry animals? If you feel inspired, you could even snap a photo of yourself with the book, and create a page about why you loved the story. I know it might sound odd, but make your bed. I mean, really make your bed. Put on your favorite sheets, that beautiful comforter, and all those cute throw pillows. Take a few minutes to tidy up your entire bedroom and put away any clutter. Tonight, when you go to bed you’ll feel like you’ve walked into a sanctuary – a beautiful, restful place for you to lay your head for the night.

Enjoy the fruits of the season. If you have a farmers market in your town take a morning to go select local, fresh produce and savor your favorite delicious fruits.

Grab something yummy to drink. If you're experiencing cold weather - grab a hot cup of tea, cocoa or coffee to sip; if you're somewhere warm - grab a refreshing cup of lemonade or iced tea. Take your little cup of happiness, and savor every sip.

Make a list of the things you're grateful for. This can be a list of both the obvious things, and the little blessings that are harder to recognize. It can include the sun shining on your face, your favorite beverage, hugs from a loved one, and having a roof over your head. I encourage you to write for at least 15 minutes, and put down anything that comes to mind. When you take the time to identify the things that bring you joy, you'll create a powerful tool to help you cultivate more things that make you happy, and a list to help keep things in perspective on the not-so-good days.

Take a long, hot bath. At the end of a busy day, take 30 minutes to relax your weary muscles and joints, and to allow your mind to rest. Whether it's a simple soak, or over-the-top with bubbles, soft candle light and a good book, quiet your mind, be in the moment, and simply enjoy the warm waters.
