I love this One Little Word layout from BPC student Cheri Andrews. I asked her to share a little about it, and here's what she said:
I’ve been a BPC student since 2006. I’m a junkie! I’d be embarrassed to admit how many classes are listed on “My Classes” page. This year I’m enrolled in the Trifecta of year-long classes: Twelve. with Stacy Julian, One Little Word with Ali Edwards, and Move More Eat Well with Cathy Zielske – three of my most fave teachers at BPC!
This layout was for the February prompt in One Little Word that asked us to depict our word for the year in photos. Ali designed the template for photos to fit into a simple 8 1/2" x 11" baseball card page protector. My word this year is “focus” and my photos depict the various areas in my life that I am focusing on this year. My BPC classes were chosen to complement my word – Twelve. is helping me focus on my creative side and sharing my stories and Move More Eat Well is helping me to focus on my health – exercise, eating healthy, and getting rest. I love the way that our BPC teachers and classes go so far beyond simple techniques and products and incorporate real values and life lessons into our learning!
Thank you Cheri! We love BPC junkies and we love our teachers too! Cheri blogs here.

Look at this adorable layout by Danielle! The colors just make me think of spring, and I am ready for spring!!
Here's what Danielle said about her layout:This layout is inspired by this picture of my favorite chair and a lovely Anthropologie crocheted throw. I hadn't intended for our decor style to become granny chic, but somehow it did. I also tried to use vintage or antiqued elements such as the tea-stained doilie, colorful papers that reminded me of a needlepoint pillow, and the new Amy Tangerine yo-yo flowers.
Thanks for sharing with us Danielle!

It's time for me to share another great layout from the BPC Student Gallery with you! I saw this layout by Ashli and I just LOVE her use of paint on her layout! (I must admit I'm scared to use paint on my layouts, but now I'm inspired!).
Here's what Ashli had to say about this layout:
I am having the best time in May Flaum's Field Guide class! I am new to BPC with this course and it has far exceeded my expectations! I did this layout for week 3 of our class, which focuses on paint. I chose this sweet photo of my 95 year old grandmother following behind two of my girls who are holding their grandfather's hand. A wonderful moment showing stages of life in the generations. The papers are from the My Mind's Eye Bright Side collection and I love how they pull in the colors in the photo.
I wanted to echo the chevron pattern in one of the papers, but I don't have a chevron stamp. So sad. What's a crafty girl to do? Improvise! I cut a scrap piece of cardboard, bent it into a point and got stampy with some paint. Once the paint was dry, I misted over the area to pull out the design a bit more. It is so fun playing with different mediums and techniques! Come see more at www.purplemailbox.com !
Thank you so much for sharing with us Ashli!

While looking through the BPC Student Gallery this layout really caught my eye! I loved all teh layers, the stitching, the buttons (I LOVE buttons), and the fact that it was a layout about a student's life! Not about her kids, or her husband, or her mom...but about her! (I'm really bad about creating layouts about myself). Way to go Jennifer! And thank you so much for letting me share your layout with everyone here!
When I asked Jennifer about her layout, this is what she said:
"I did this layout because I was inspired by the photo. I had been doing a 30 day photo challenge, and the day the prompt was to take a picture of what we were wearing, it was Spirit Day at the school I teach at. I made the page as an EVERYDAY page for the class Twelve. I tend to make linear pages, so I had fun stamping and embossing circles, which are always sort of spirited shapes to me!"
Take the challenge...can you create a layout about something "everyday" in your life?

Whenever I get a chance to view student galleries lately, I am drawn to BPC member Dotti's photos. This one shown is indeed a favorite of mine. She shares more about the photo below.
"This photo was taken for a Picture Winter (Tracey Clark) prompt called "Warm Your Heart". I frequently buy little knick knacks to use as photo props and that's how I came by this paperweight. I asked my husband of 40 years to hold the heart as you see it here, to illustrate the prompt. The hands echoing the heart shape, I think, are critical to the overall story and it does take some handling with care to successfully nurture a long-term relationship."

Looking through the student gallery recently, I was immediately drawn to this layout. I love the banner, the addition of paint to "frame" the photo, and I love the topic! Thank you Margie for letting me share your layout, 798 Art District, on the blog today!

A note from Margie: I have recently started art journaling everyday, so I have been playing with paint and other mediums a lot. When I sat down to make this layout in response to Stacy's Library of Memories Community weekly challenge, I couldn't help but do some playing on my layout. I had just made a banner stamp out of medical padding (that happened to be sitting on my desk, though, I have no idea how it got there!) and wanted to use it (If you are interested in details, check out my blog [Nov 19 post]: Nihao, Cupcake!). And since the paint was out, it only seemed natural to slap some on my page as the frame for my photo. I used the cap of a ball point pen (also sitting on my desk) to stamp some circles on the number stickers in my title to make them stand out as well as the brown felt flowers and the photo corners for some repetition to tie my layout together (something I learned in Cathy's Design Your Life class).
I am so excited to have my page featured on the BPC blog today! I love BPC and have been an active member since 2007. I have taken so many classes, that I have lost count. I first discovered BPC when I read Stacy's book, The Big Picture. The classes and online community have become a very big part of my life because right around the time I discovered it, my husband started traveling a great deal, so I spent my evenings, after my young children went to bed, working on my classes. I found it so inspiring and it really made a huge difference in my ability to produce scrapbook pages that I love and enjoy making. Any time I find myself in a creative slump, I know where to go to kick start my mojo! And now that I live in Beijing, China, BPC is my connection to the scrapbook world since there are no classes, no stores and no supplies to be found any where here.
I have loved so many of the classes but my favorite teachers are Stacy Julian (I cannot let any workshop by Stacy pass me by because I find her ideas so original and thought provoking and best of all, meaningful and easy to execute!), Cathy Zielske, (she's fun and oh, so talented!), I also love Ali Edwards, Amy Sorensen and Elizabeth Dillow, to name just a few.
There are so many classes I want to take right now, it is hard to decide since I don't have enough time in my day to take them all and still see my kids! So far, I've signed up for 12 Days of Christmas, TWELVE., Reclaiming My Time, and I've just signed up for a second year of Ali's One Little Word class. In fact, on the 1st of every month I host a One Little Word blog hop on my blog: Nihao, Cupcake! for any OLW students that want to participate. If you have a blog, why not join us? On January 1st we will share our December 2011 projects and kick off OLW 2012 by revealing our words for the new year. It is the perfect time for any new students to join us and announce their word on their own blog. Visit my blog for more details.

These cards caught my eye and I love the sophisticated color palettes and the mix of patterns. Great job Diana! She followed the recipes in the Cooking Up Cards class. See the full size images in her gallery.

I don't know about you, but I must be in the holiday spirit, because when I was looking through the student gallery to find a layout to feature, I couldn't help but be drawn to the Christmasy colors of this layout by Denise!

Denise says: This layout was part of my 2010 December Daily. It was inspired by a digital sketch from write.click.scrapbook (Crystal Wilkerson), but I used actual paper scraps. My brother-in-law was visiting for the Christmas holiday, and ended up getting the flu while staying with my mother-in-law. Thankfully, he was able to stop by for brunch & visit with us before heading to the airport! Note: we had more visitors post-Christmas last year, so my December Daily was about capturing the memories of the holidays instead of specific dates.
Some of my favorite classes at BPC have been Darci Dowdle's two classes (Baker's Dozen & Decorate Life) and Cathy Zielske's Design Your Life. As much as I absolutely love taking classes at BPC, one of my favorite things that keeps me coming back for more is the community!!! It is amazing to not only see other's work & be able to make comments & compliments/ask questions, but it is thrilling when others take the time to comment on my posted pages! Awesome.
Thank you Denise! We love the community at BPC too! Remember if you want some extra help documenting your holidays this year, you can sign up for the 12 Days of Christmas here at BPC!
