Welcome to our annual MAY class giveaway week. Each day this week we are giving away classes and goodies from Creating Keepsakes. We are all looking forward to celebrating National Scrapbook Day events all week long and of course our FREE online Creative Crop co-hosted by Creating Keepsakes magazine. Don't forget to sign-up to access all the cool content and to be eligible to win awesome prizes.
In the same light as the previous classes in Tracey's popular Picture series, Picture Black & White will inspire and challenge you to look at the world around you in a whole new way; this time with a monochromatic twist. Throughout the class you will receive thirty photo prompts delivered to your inbox. You will receive each prompt every other day which will allow ample time to shoot and savor each prompt. Sixty days in the classroom setting with thematic videos from Tracey will help creatively guide you as you capture your vision, using the muse of a monochromatic pallet.
Part encouragement, part inspiration and part empowerment, Tracey will not only offer her signature prompts, she'll be sharing the whys and hows of creating compelling and creatively composed black and white images.

I love to upcycle everyday things. I take it as a creative challenge. In honor of Earth Day, 4/22/2012, here’s an upcycling tutorial.
Steps:
I started with a button package and detached the bubble from top. Look into your stash to find a sturdy chipboard packaging that you can upcycle.
I painted the surface with Chalk Paint. You can do the same following instructions on your paint bottle. ( If you don’t have chalk paint, you can use chalkboard cardstock to cover the surface.)
Once the paint dried, I applied glue to the back edge of the chipboard and attached a long piece of fabric into a simple ruffle. You could use paper instead if you don’t have fabric handy.
Then I stitched around using my sewing machine for a more finished look. If you don’t like to sew, make sure to use a very strong adhesive.
I added a flower and hanger from the same fabric. You could use twine or ribbon and any flower you may already have.
Now, your mini chalkboard is ready to be hung.
If you too are a fan of upcycling make sure to check out my upcoming 4-week workshop Lift Me Up! where you’ll find four upcycled projects, from beginner to advanced that will make you want to see beauty beyond the obvious in everyday discards.
Also, don’t forget to join me for a chat during National Scrapbook Day between 6:15-6:45 in the Creative Crop Classroom where we can talk more about my upcoming workshop Lift Me Up!
Thanks and have a creative day!

Liz, "As a student I can only say this class is amazing. Heidi is such an excellent teacher. The students are so engaged. Taking this class has increased my confidence because of the message boards and comments from the gallery. The other thing is what you create. It is fablous!!!"
The Inked Stamper Scrapbook Store "I am LOVING the class! I call it my CPR to scrapbooking; it has rejuvenated my whole creative outlook and I highly recommend it! It was just a view from a house we visited to have a pasta making class, but what a view! I love that it is SO different to our home in Australia, so green and dotted with really old stone villas. Makes me happy every time I look at it.
I loved reading how Cindy's (cinback)word has helped her so far this year, she completed a half-marathon! How cool is that? See more images and read her story. Thanks for sharing!
