Getting to Know Becky Higgins

Currently teaching:
Project Real Life

About Becky
Becky has a passion for living well and documenting life. Since 1997 she has been authoring books, creating artwork, writing articles, teaching classes, and designing products—all in the name of scrapbooking. In her personal evolution she came to find herself relating to everyone who has said, "Scrapbooking is too time-consuming, too complicated, too expensive, too much." In 2009, Becky Higgins LLC was born so that she could share solution-based products with everyone who felt this way.

Project Life® is Becky's memory-keeping system that has taken the scrapbooking industry by storm because of the back-to-basics and fuss-free approach. Becky's Blog has gained the reputation of being an uplifting and inspiring place on the web. There's always a common goal in everything Becky shares, which is to CULTIVATE A GOOD LIFE AND RECORD IT. Arizona is where she and her husband David are raising their 3 children.

Her Favorite Quote

"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others."

Becky Answers the Five W's

Yeah, yeah, technically there are ten W's.

Who are you? An ordinary girl trying to be anxiously engaged in doing good continually.

Who has inspired you, personally or professionally, to be who you are? Ultimately, it is my Savior who inspires me in every area of my life.

What do you believe with all of your heart?
We end up taking on the characteristics of those we spend time with, which makes it imperative that we surround ourselves with people that we want to emulate.

What do you teach, write, blog, and talk incessantly about? Cultivating a good life and recording it.

When did you get your start? In 1997 I was newly married and finishing college when I got my first gig with Creating Keepsakes magazine. My first article was on a creative lettering style and as they say, the rest is history.

When did you know that this was your path? During my freshman year of college I was more interested in sharing and teaching everyone around me all about scrapbooking, than I was focused on getting good grades. Even then, I still had no clue what that path would actually evolve to become, personally and professionally.

Where is your favorite place on earth? Home—hands down. But New Zealand is quite possibly my favorite place that we have visited.

Where do you go to be inspired? My knees.

Why are you here at BPC? First of all, Stacy and I go way back. I have so much admiration and respect for my friend and what she stands for—so collaborating together is a no-brainer! Secondly, I love this online worldwide platform to connect with like-minded people who are anxious to cultivate a good life and record it.

Why do you love your life? Because I recognize and appreciate that struggles, frustrations, disappointments, and heartache are all part of our mortal existence and part of what makes us grow stronger, smarter, and more compassionate. What's not to love about that? Plus—I feel tremendously blessed every day to have a family that I love so much.

How do you do everything you do? I proactively seek ways to invite other people into my life who are good at what they do—from a house cleaner that comes regularly, to a team of incredibly talented people that have become integral in our business. I have no desire to "do it all" myself. That would just be nuts.

How can we learn more about you? Home base for everything I do is found on BeckyHiggins.com—but if you really want glimpses into my world, my everyday, and a view from my personal lens ... I regularly share on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Just search Becky Higgins LLC.

Her Favorite Photo

To be a mother is a gift for which I have immense gratitude. Even though my babies are no longer babies, it's photos like this one that remind me they will always be my babies indeed.

Her Favorite Project

Scrapbooking is really my passion when it comes to hobbies but I so appreciate taking the opportunity to bust out of that shell once in a while with a completely different creative outlet.
