Ali
Ali
Edwards' passion resides in that very special place where
the stories and images of life intersect. Popular blogger,
memory keeping product designer, author of four books, mom
to two kids, and navigator of the ups and downs of life, Ali

everything for the better.
Her Favorite Quote
"I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that
I've just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the
width as well." -Diane Ackerman
Ali Answers the Five W's
For extra fun, we included two of each W, plus a couple
of H's!
Who are you? I am in progress. I am re-envisioning my
life. I am living day to day. I am working on being open.
I am embracing change. I am finding the fun me again. I love
my work.
Who has inspired you, personally or professionally, to
be who you are? My parents. Teachers. Friends. People
I don't know. Life experiences. Books.
What do you believe with all of your heart? That expressing
compassionate love, deep and open, even in the hardest
of times, is the most important thing because we are all
in this together.
What do you teach, write, blog, and talk incessantly about?
Capturing and celebrating everyday life. Telling your story.
Making it through stuff. Embracing life with an open heart
and mind.
When did you get your start? I started scrapbooking
in late 2002 and started working with Two Peas in a Bucket
and Creating Keepsakes in 2003.
When did you know that this was your path? It's been
an evolution. I do remember sitting down to the first day
of my Graphic Design program at a local community college
(after getting a BA in American History/Literature/Political
Science) and knowing I was exactly where I was supposed
to be. I loved scrapbooking from the first moment I started,
when my son Simon was just about a year old. Bringing together
words, photos and design-it's definitely a way of life for
me now.
Where is your favorite place on earth? Probably my
parents' house on the Oregon Coast. Family history + the ocean
= win. Some days it's my backyard. Some days it's my bed or
my couch watching movies with my kids, or a dark movie theater,
or my offices, or an outdoor swimming pool, or getting on
an airplane to embark on an adventure, or at a bar with friends.
Where do you go to be inspired? Pinterest. Home décor
magazines. Simple living blogs.
Why are you here at BPC? Because this is a great community
and I love what I do. I want to share my life and ideas with
others.
Why do you love your life? Freedom. Light. Family.
Opportunity. Possibility. Adventure.
How do you do everything you do? I try really hard
to work when it's time to work and play when it's time to
play. Schedules are my friend.

Her
Favorite Photo

This is a photo I took while we were on vacation in Hawaii
this past January. I love it for lots of reasons-particularly
for the scale (how small they are versus the sky and ocean)
and for how it showcases a relationship between my two kids.
Her Favorite Layout

I am a real-life storyteller. I love everyday stories that
talk about the, who, what, where, when, why, etc. of a situation,
event, or moment. This one tells the story of Simon beginning
4th grade.
