Creating A Wood Veneer Pocket

Thinking outside of the box and using your supplies in new and creative ways can be so much fun!  In Jess Forster's class, Beyond the Pocket, she shares just how versatile those pocket page cards and supplies can be! Today, she is joining us here on the blog to share a fun way to add a little pop and pizazz to those pockets!

It’s no secret - I love pocket page scrapbooking! With a busy three year old and baby #2 due in a few months, pocket pages make sense for my life right now. However sometimes my inner Martha just wants to bust out the scissors and get my craft on! And you totally can! Today, I am going to show you how to create a glitter pocket with these adorable Studio Calico Wood Veneers. Add them to your Project life albums or mini books – they are so versatile and can jazz up any project!

To make a glitter pocket with wood veneers, you will need: a divided page protector, washi tape, scissors and wood veneers.

Using your scissors cut out one pocket from your pocket page. I cut on the outside of the page protector. You can straighten the lines using a paper cutter. Fill inside of the pocket with the wood veneers and cover each side with piece of washi tape. Decorate with a pocket page journal card – and call it done!

No doubt traditional supplies can be in used our pocket pages, the same can be said for pocket page supplies. It may not always be obvious, but you can have a lot of crafty fun thinking beyond the pocket!
